Hailing from Chula Vista and currently a 6th grader at Clear View Elementary School, Aislin Raye Fontanilla is paving her path in football as part of the Class of 2031. Her journey began in 4th grade, inspired by a family deeply rooted in the sport. With an older sister who once played and a younger brother currently on the field, football is a cherished family tradition for Aislin. Over the past two years, she has embraced the challenges and triumphs of being a quarterback, blending her competitive spirit with the joy she finds in the game.  

For Aislin, the role of quarterback goes beyond physical skill. She values the opportunity to lead on the field and take initiative, showcasing her integrity, passion, and high football IQ. To her, these qualities, along with strong leadership, are what make a great quarterback. She admires NFL quarterback CJ Stroud, whose standout rookie year and evident passion and leadership embody the traits she strives to emulate.  

Off the field, Aislin is a well-rounded athlete and individual. She enjoys volleyball, playing Madden, singing, shopping, and spending time with friends. Her previous experience at a football camp introduced her to the camaraderie of the sport, even before she fully understood or appreciated the intricacies of the game. Now, her love for football shines through in her dedication to improving as an all-around player. Her short-term goals include enhancing teamwork on her NFL Flag team and leading them to a championship, while her long-term aspirations focus on strengthening her throwing arm and improving her mobility.  

Adapting to new challenges has been a key part of Aislin’s growth as a player. Recently, she faced a difficult team environment that required adjusting to a different coaching style and balancing individual interests. Her solution was simple but powerful: focus on giving her best effort and contributing to the team. Aislin’s ability to persevere and maintain her drive highlights her resilience and determination.  

Her pre-game ritual is a testament to the importance of confidence and preparation. It includes listening to music, stretching her ankles, warming up her arm, and syncing with her team. A unique superstition adds a personal touch—she always asks her older sister to do her hair, a gesture that boosts her confidence before taking the field.  

Aislin credits her dad as her most significant mentor, acknowledging his unwavering support and encouragement. Her advice to young athletes is to enjoy learning the sport and always have fun, a philosophy that reflects her positive attitude and love for the game.  

A memorable moment in her football career came during her first “pick-6,” where she intercepted a pass and returned it all the way to the opposing team’s endzone. The thrill of contributing to a team victory is a memory that fuels her passion for football. In the off-season, Aislin stays active by playing football with her brother and spending time outdoors.  

Balancing football with family, academics, and other hobbies, Aislin Raye Fontanilla exemplifies the qualities of a young leader on and off the field. With her determination, passion, and supportive network of family and coaches, Aislin is poised to achieve her goals and inspire others along the way.
