In the heart of Longview, Texas, a young quarterback is building a legacy that stretches far beyond his years. Austin Hill, affectionately nicknamed “Smiles,” is a Class of 2029 pro-style QB with an infectious enthusiasm for football and life. Currently attending Judson STEAM Academy for middle school, Austin is preparing to transition to Longview High School, where he plans to continue his journey as a Longview Lobo.
Austin’s football story began at age nine when he was selected as QB1 in 4th grade. That moment sparked a passion that has only grown stronger with time. Over the years, he has developed not just into a skilled quarterback but also a natural leader who values the friendships and camaraderie built with his teammates and coaches. Austin thrives on the tight bonds formed through the game, often likening his team to family.

For Austin, football is more than a game—it’s a lifestyle. He absorbs every opportunity to grow, from studying film to honing his mechanics through rigorous training. Competition fuels his drive to excel, and the roar of the crowd motivates him to give everything on the field. “The feeling of hearing the crowd roar is like no other,” he says.
Austin embodies what it means to be a quarterback: physically tough, mentally sharp, and emotionally resilient. He believes a great QB is someone who leads by example, takes responsibility, inspires confidence, and masters both the technical and tactical aspects of the game. His attention to detail, whether it’s perfecting his footwork or studying defensive coverages, sets him apart as a rising star.

One of Austin’s greatest inspirations is Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills QB whose improbable journey from overlooked high school player to NFL MVP contender resonates deeply with him. Austin admires Allen’s persistence and determination, qualities he strives to emulate in his own football career.
Beyond football, Austin is a well-rounded young man with a variety of interests. He enjoys playing competitive basketball, fishing, working out, attending youth church services with friends, and spending quality time with his family. His dedication to improvement extends to his off-the-field routines, which include weightlifting, agility training, and meal prep. Despite his busy schedule, Austin emphasizes the importance of recovery, relying on Epsom salt baths and quality sleep to keep him in peak condition.

Austin’s accomplishments speak volumes. Undefeated in middle school with a 15-0-1 record, he led his team to back-to-back district championships while setting Longview ISD middle school records in passing yards, touchdowns, and completions. One of his proudest moments came when he threw the game-winning touchdown with just 55 seconds remaining to secure the district title—a moment he credits to the visualization techniques his father taught him.
Not one to shy away from challenges, Austin played his entire 8th-grade season with a broken big toe, learning firsthand the power of mental toughness and perseverance. Now, as he prepares for high school, Austin is laser-focused on his goals. He aims to break all passing records set by Longview Lobos legend Haynes King and lead his team to more Texas UIL State Championships. In 7on7, he’s determined to guide his Texas Epic squad to the #1 national ranking after finishing 13th last season.
Austin’s journey is supported by a network of dedicated coaches and mentors, including QB trainers Brady Davis and Mitch, as well as his 7on7 coach Don Smith, a legend in the world of competitive football. At camps like Elev8 QB Academy and Elite 11, Austin has built lasting relationships with like-minded athletes while learning from the best in the game.
With his unwavering work ethic, deep love for the sport, and an ever-present smile, Austin Hill is a name to remember. He’s not just a quarterback; he’s a leader, a role model, and a beacon of positivity for his teammates and community. As he says, “Put your trust and faith in the MAN upstairs knowing HE will never lead you in the wrong direction.”
Longview, Texas, has a star in the making, and Austin Hill is ready to shine.
