QB Magazine Athlete Feature
When Liam Torres was two years old, his dad started recording him throwing a ball. It wasn’t just because the moment was cute. His dad noticed that Liam’s throws were already surprisingly accurate, and they traveled much farther than anyone expected from a toddler.
Those videos marked the beginning of Liam’s football story. At three and four, his parents signed him up for i9 Sports instructional classes. His coaches there quickly saw his strength and accuracy. One even told his dad that he’d need to buy throwing nets just to keep up with him. By then, Liam was hooked, and he kept asking for anything related to football.
As he developed at i9, a coach asked him to play quarterback and throw to his teammates. That’s when his love for the position really took off. The encouragement he received from coaches helped him build strong discipline for the sport, even at a young age.

Now five years into football, Liam is a first grader at Negley Elementary in Kyle, Texas. He’s also a dual-threat quarterback with an advantage many young quarterbacks don’t have: he throws left-handed. “Being left-handed also gives defenses a different look they’re not used to seeing,” he said.
He loves being the player who makes things happen. He enjoys reading the defense, finding the open receiver, and leading his team. Liam can also play wide receiver, where his speed and hands help him score, and his coaches sometimes move him to different positions to help him learn new skills. Still, quarterback is his favorite. “QB is where my heart is,” he said. “I love staying busy and being in control of the game.”
Liam didn’t always get a fair chance to compete for the quarterback spot, and that was hard for him. He didn’t give up. He kept training harder until Coach Sam Carlin gave him an opportunity at Next Level Sports Flag Football. Liam made the most of it. Next Level featured him on its X page and gave him a nickname that stuck: “Baller.”
His training has continued to grow. Liam works with Coach Liam Duddy at the Austin Gridiron Academy. Coach Duddy, a former Division I quarterback, helped build the foundation of Liam’s game and improve both his mechanics and his understanding of football. Coach Mike Alvarez works with Liam in baseball, helping him build the arm strength and conditioning that also help him on the football field. Liam has attended the Buda Jags football camp and the 2026 Flex Sports Marcel Reed Camp, where he got to meet Reed and pick up tips on playing quarterback.

For Liam, being a great quarterback starts with accuracy, leadership, and staying calm under pressure. He also believes a quarterback should lift up his teammates and not just make plays for himself. In his view, discipline and consistency matter too. That means training hard several times a week and believing you can improve every time you step on the field.
His favorite quarterback is Patrick Mahomes, and his favorite receiver is Justin Jefferson. Liam loves Mahomes’ cadences, practices copying them all the time, and has dressed up as Mahomes more than once. What he admires most about both players is how hard they work, how they became the best at what they do, and how they share their strengths and values with others. He hopes to meet them both someday.
His favorite football memory so far came from a loss. This past winter, Liam scored multiple touchdowns and helped his team reach the championship game. His team came up short, but the season still meant a lot to him. It showed him he had the skills and grit to make it that far, and it taught him that success isn’t measured only by wins. Sometimes, he says, the biggest growth comes from how you respond after a tough loss.
Football is only part of Liam’s life. He plays soccer, where he has won MVP and a Sportsmanship award, and he also plays baseball and flag football. He has earned 14 to 15 medals across different leagues. He’s a Nike product tester through Nike’s Voice of the Athlete program and a sponsored athlete in UDX/Undrdog Athletix’s Road to Dynasty program. He plans to keep playing soccer and baseball because they help him build footwork, hand-eye coordination, and overall athleticism for quarterback.
His goals are clear. In the short term, he wants to keep improving his accuracy and decision-making while staying a dual threat with his speed. Long term, he wants to keep building his film and reputation as he moves up to higher levels of competition and continues growing as a leader.

Film From the Very Beginning
Liam’s family started recording his football journey before he was old enough to play on a team. His dad saw something in those early throws and kept filming. Now one of Liam’s long-term goals is to keep building his film. An upgraded QB Magazine membership adds structure to what his family has been doing all along by sharing his growth step by step.
It starts with his story. Practice Squad includes one feature article each year, and Starter includes two. Liam’s journey is full of moments worth sharing: a two-year-old with a surprisingly accurate arm, i9 coaches suggesting throwing nets, the “Baller” nickname at Next Level, meeting Marcel Reed at camp, and the championship run that taught him about handling a loss. A second article can follow the next part of his journey as a left-handed dual-threat quarterback.
A custom graphic designed for him every month helps keep those moments easy to share. That could be a touchdown throw, a big run, a camp highlight, or another medal. Each graphic gives Liam’s family something new and professional to post alongside the videos they’ve been collecting for years.

Reposts help those moments reach more people. Practice Squad includes two story reposts each month on X or Instagram. Starter includes four story reposts every week across both platforms, plus a monthly wall collab that appears on Liam’s page and QB Magazine’s at the same time. That introduces a young left-handed quarterback from Kyle to QB Magazine’s national community of quarterbacks, coaches, and football families.
Starter also includes several extras that fit a family already managing his online presence. Social media consulting can help @torresathleticsmedia and @liamtorresqb work together and show the disciplined, team-first player Liam is growing into. Top 50 QB Mag Watchlist consideration gives him a chance to be featured among the quarterbacks QB Magazine is following. Priority for the QB Mag College Bus + Camps TOUR gives him an early look at college campuses, like the kind he got when he met Marcel Reed. Both tiers also include camp access, adding more opportunities to learn alongside his training with Coach Duddy and Coach Alvarez.
Starting this early gives Liam a real advantage. Since he’s only in first grade, every article, graphic, repost, and collab can become part of a long, growing timeline of his development. By the time he reaches middle school or high school, his family will have years of progress to look back on.
Liam’s football story started with his dad pressing record on a toddler throwing a ball. A membership helps continue that story, preserving every chapter from those first videos to the “Baller” nickname and whatever comes next.
