Ace Martinez is the type of quarterback who embraces the grind as much as the spotlight. A freshman at Lee Williams High School in Kingman, Arizona, and a member of the Class of 2029, Martinez has already built a foundation rooted in discipline, resilience, and leadership—traits that show up long before the ball is snapped.
Martinez has been playing football for four years, and his passion for the game goes far beyond statistics or recognition. He loves football for the discipline it demands and the daily challenges it presents. That mentality naturally led him to the quarterback position, where leadership, accountability, and control of the field are essential. For Martinez, being a QB means setting the tone, commanding the offense, and guiding his teammates with confidence.
One of the defining traits of Ace’s game is his strong mindset and unwavering discipline. He takes pride in starting and finishing his team’s routine every game, understanding that preparation and consistency matter just as much as performance. He does not rely on superstitions; instead, he believes in himself and the work he puts in daily. That belief was tested when Martinez suffered a broken collarbone, a setback that could have stalled his momentum. Instead, he responded by locking in on strict nutrition and elevating his workout routine, turning adversity into fuel for growth.
Training is a major pillar of Martinez’s development. He works twice a week with Coach Gio, twice a week with Coach Kramer, and twice a week with Coach Gabe, surrounding himself with coaches who challenge him physically and mentally. Coach Gio, in particular, has had a major influence on his journey, helping him grow not only as a quarterback but as a young man. Martinez credits that guidance with helping him become a better player and person than he was before.
Martinez draws inspiration from Bryce Young, a quarterback he admires for overcoming doubt, proving critics wrong, and never giving up when pressure was at its highest. That same mentality shows up in Ace’s approach to the game, his preparation, and his competitive edge. His short-term goal is to gain 10 pounds of muscle, while his long-term focus remains on becoming a more complete and well-rounded player.
Ace Martinez was one of the top prospects selected for the 2025 College Camps Bus TOUR with Quarterback Magazine, traveling in June to compete and train at some of the nation’s top college programs. After making a strong impression throughout the TOUR, he is set to return once again as part of the 2026 College Camps Bus TOUR, continuing to challenge himself against elite competition.
When he’s away from football, Martinez enjoys working out, spending time outdoors, and going fishing, using those moments to reset and stay grounded. But when game day arrives, his intensity and love for football take over. In his first game as a starter, he threw six passing touchdowns, a breakout performance that reflected his preparation, confidence, and leadership. More than anything, he thrives on the adrenaline of competition and the responsibility that comes with leading a team.
Still early in his high school journey, Ace Martinez is already setting the standard with his work ethic, mental toughness, and passion for the game. Guided by discipline and driven by belief, he continues to prove that challenges don’t define a quarterback—response and commitment do.
