Berg first stepped onto the football field at just seven years old, and from the beginning he gravitated toward the quarterback position. What started as a love for throwing the ball quickly grew into something much deeper. For Berg, playing quarterback is about more than just making plays — it’s about leadership, dedication, and setting an example for teammates.
“I love playing quarterback. I love throwing the ball and completing that perfect pass,” Berg says. “It’s about the love of the game — dedication, strength, leadership, and being a positive role model both on and off the field.”
That mindset has helped Berg develop into one of the most productive young quarterbacks in his class. During his 8th-grade junior high and FBU seasons, he threw for over 2,000 passing yards with 33 touchdowns and only one interception, a remarkable level of efficiency that highlights his decision-making and accuracy.
His performance has translated into recognition across several major youth football platforms and camps. Berg has competed in events such as FBU, FBU Top Gun, You Are Athlete, Under Armour, Army Bowl, Quarterback Magazine events, Quarterback Universe, Quarterback Ranch, and camps at TCU and Texas A&M. Competing against top talent has helped sharpen his skills and elevate his confidence under center.
One of Berg’s biggest strengths is his willingness to learn. He trains with several respected quarterback coaches, including Zac Barker, Tony Ballard, and Nate Poppell, constantly working to refine his mechanics, decision-making, and leadership skills. He also credits his speed development to trainer James Banks, whose work has helped him improve his overall athletic performance.
For Berg, the blueprint for becoming a great quarterback is clear.
“Being coachable, commitment, dedication, hard work, strength, leadership, positivity, and having the right attitude are essential,” he explains. “You also have to be a good role model.”
Like many young quarterbacks, Berg draws inspiration from one of the greatest to ever play the position — Tom Brady. Brady’s relentless work ethic and competitive mindset serve as motivation for Berg as he continues to develop his game.
Despite his success, Berg says one of his biggest motivations comes from being underestimated.
“Being underestimated just makes me work even harder to prove doubters wrong,” he says.
That mentality has helped fuel a long list of accomplishments already in his young career. Berg was part of Back-to-Back Katy ISD Championship teams in both 7th and 8th grade, was named MVP for FBU Houston, and earned 2025 You Are Athlete MVP honors. He also helped lead his team to the 2025 Texas Regional State Championship for FBU and has been named MVP at multiple quarterback camps.
His performance has also earned national recognition. Berg was named a Top 10 Class of 2030 4⭐️ Pocket Quarterback by the 2025 National Top 100 Youth Football social media platform, further validating the progress he’s made in his development.
Berg credits several mentors who have helped guide him along the way, including Coach Radke, his 8th-grade football coach.
“Coach Radke believed in me and always had complete confidence in me,” Berg says.
As he continues to grow physically and mentally as a quarterback, Berg has clear goals ahead. His immediate focus is on adding 10 pounds of muscle, getting faster, and earning a varsity roster spot as a freshman.
Next up for Berg is the transition to Cinco Ranch High School, where he will play under Head Coach Dudley in one of Texas’ most competitive football environments. With his production, work ethic, and leadership qualities already on display, Berg enters the next chapter of his career with momentum and confidence.
